Optima Digital invites more filmmakers to have their post-production work done at their new and up-to-date equipments in online editing, color grading, and hardware.
Unknown to others, Optima has been involved in the post-production of three different films other than those of Brilliante Mendoza. “Ploning” of Director Dante Garcia was chosen by the Film Academy of the Philippines to represent the country at the Oscars for Best Foreign Language Film Category. The said film was shot on 35mm and was scanned in 2K format and color graded using Optima’s Bones and Resolve RT, respectively. On the other hand, Director Chito S. Rono’s “Emir” received high praises from Rolando S. Atienza, Chairman of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. This film was one of the first few films that was shot on the state-of-the-art RED camera, which ended the era of grainy picture quality.
Another film, which was Optimized, was Director Chris Martinez’ “100”. This remarkable film bagged five (5) awards at the 2008 Cinemalaya Awards Night, namely Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, and Audience’s Choice Awards. These credentials reached foreign ears, making it eligible to compete in the Pusan Film Festival held in South Korea. Again, Optima helped achieve Martinez’ treatments for the said film with the use of its Da Vinci 2K plus for color grading.
All these services, plus Optima’s acquisition of new softwares: Da Vinci 4K, Celco Firestorm 4K (for easier work with film), and a stronger core group of professionals, definitely makes Optima Digital film-ready. And the best part is, directors get top of the line quality service for competitive rates, making minimal-budget films look billions-worthy.
