History

In 1990, Tony Gloria opened Optima Studios, a post-production house that was a welcome complement to its sister company, Unitel Productions. The fledging company comprised of seven Unitel editors, artists, and producers, which were handpicked by Mr. Gloria.

Four years after (later), Optima Studios (now renamed as Optima Digital) bought its first digital software, the Autodesk’s Flame on an Onyx 1RE2 platform, making it the first in Southeast Asia to have such software. The Flame set the standard in visual effects and compositing. It bought Optima to the forefront of digital graphics and design.

Optima Digital has since then invested in other pioneering post-production technologies. Alongside, we continuously honed artists, giving them the competence and confidence needed for delivering quality products. Working side by side, these tools of ours have revolutionized the way television ads and films look, not only in the Philippines but also in the Southeast Asia region. With this, we are proud to say it all started inside our editing suites.
